Community health centres (CHCs) offer a wide range of welfare and health services to people who live, work or study in the local government area where the centre is located. Services are also provided via outreach and are usually free or at low cost.

Services may include counselling, general medical services, needle exchanges, audiology, podiatry, dentistry, disability support, immunisation, speech pathology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, community nursing, health education, information, pregnancy testing, contraception information, financial counselling and problem gambling counselling. Some centres provide Ethnic Health Workers.

Services may vary from centre to centre and you should check with each individual centre about their current services and hours of operation.
